Athena's Awareness

Because of Athena's passing, her mama has wanted to bring awareness to Hydrops Fetalis.

Hydrops fetalis is a severe medical condition in which an abnormal accumulation of fluid occurs in at least two compartments of a fetus, such as the skin, abdomen, chest, or around the heart. It is often associated with severe swelling and can be life-threatening.

Symptoms during pregnancy may include excessive amniotic fluid (polyhydramnios), abnormal fetal swelling on ultrasound, or signs of fetal distress. Treatment depends on the underlying cause and may involve managing the pregnancy or intervening post-delivery. The prognosis varies based on the cause and severity.
